The series ironically evokes and owes its name to an accident, a fracture which imposed an artistic convalescence, but pays debt to a methodological approach to work and to life, broad-spectrum.
An unexpected event like a fracture isn’t simply a biological morbidity, it represents an attitudinal shift: from tumultuous vitality to sedimentation, form spontaneity to recollection and assimilation.
This eventful moment allowed for a research-led examination of new outlets of expression, for the calcification of ideas on which to rebuild upon.
The resulting work is flattered by organic sinuosities of concrete and marble powder obtained from aluminium foil molds, which in a game of apposition and subtraction form a tactile array of rough, crude textures.
